Having A Hard Time Getting Used To My Veneers

I’ve worn my temporary veneers for 5 weeks now and I am having a hard time getting used to them. I almost feel like my dentist is trying to make me like them. She keeps asking me don’t they look great? Not to me. We already had one change to them and I still can’t get used to the look. I asked my dentist this same question – how long is this going to go on? Tab

Tab – Our recommendation is that you sit down with an honest friend or family member and write down some specifics about what you don’t like, and what he or she doesn’t like, about your veneers. Although you may not agree with the person from whom you receive input, having someone there with you can help you express your thoughts clearly to your dentist.

Take the list with you to your dentist so you won’t forget your request. Ensure that you and your dentist have the same understanding of your requests. It may help to look back at some of the photos of smile designs that your dentist showed you as an example of what you do or do not want for your smile.

After you receive your next temporary veneers, if they still are not what you want, it may be time to seek a second opinion from a skilled cosmetic dentist. Give your dentist a chance to rectify the issue. Be patient, but don’t accept veneers that you are not thrilled about.
