Why Does Our Family Dentist Keep Getting My Temporary Veneers The Wrong Color?

I am starting to get nervous about my veneers because my family dentist keeps getting the temps the wrong color. This is the 3rd try. I am not sure why this is happening. I picked the color but each of these three times the temps are not a color match. Why does this keep happening? Q.E.

Q.E. – If there are repeated problems with color matching your veneers, it is likely that your family dentist is not a cosmetic dentist.

“Cosmetic dentist” isn’t just a title, although any dentist can claim it. Does your dentist have cosmetic dentistry training? Does he or she participate in ongoing cosmetic dentistry training? Does your dentist regularly provide patients with beautiful, natural-looking porcelain veneers?

This may be the time to get a second opinion from a dentist who is an artist, who understands the characteristics of porcelain and how to design beautiful veneers with it, and who will provide you with a customized smile. Look online for cosmetic dentists’ smile galleries of before-and-after photos to show what kind of results you can expect. Schedule consultations with a few dentists, to help get veneers that are the shape, color, and look that you want.
