Will I Need New Dentures If I Get Cosmetic Surgery On My Face?

I have implant dentures so I am very happy with my smile. What I am not happy with is my face. This October I am going to have a few consultations with cosmetic surgeons. I know that teeth affect the position of your lips and cheeks. Will I need new dentures if I get cosmetic surgery on my face? Lynn

Lynn – Dentures give support to your upper and lower lip. A cosmetic surgeon will evaluate your goals for your face and let you know if and how your dentures will affect the final result. Your cosmetic surgery should be tailored to enhance—not detract from—your smile.

Depending on your case, your dentures may need to be adjusted. Consult with your plastic surgeon and your dentist to ensure that you face and your smile complement each other.
